Sandy Olenick

Financial Planner Emeritus

Sandy Olenick is a seasoned financial professional who retired from Herzog Kistner Shaw Financial Partners in 2025, following a distinguished career dedicated to helping individuals and couples achieve financial confidence and retirement security.

Sandy began her focus on retirement planning in the mid-1990s while working for Citistreet/Copeland, a 403(b) provider serving the education and medical marketplaces. She later joined MassMutual Pittsburgh’s leadership team as the firm’s Annuity Specialist, where she trained financial professionals, consulted on complex cases, and helped expand the firm’s presence in the annuity marketplace—all while maintaining a select financial planning practice.

A graduate of Carlow University with a degree in Speech Pathology, Sandy originally worked as a speech therapist for Pittsburgh Public Schools and in the Educational Division of Reader’s Digest. When that division closed in 1981, she began her financial services career with Connecticut General/Cigna Individual Financial Services, specializing in fee-based financial planning and estate and business continuity planning.

After transitioning her business to Herzog Kistner Shaw Financial Partners, Sandy continued to consult on retirement income strategies, annuities, and comprehensive financial plans before entering retirement. Today, she remains passionate about charitable giving and supports organizations through her expertise in advanced planned giving techniques.
